Hello friends,

Jim Nantz, joining you for one final time this season from the Butler Cabin here at beautiful Augusta National. The sun has set on the 88th Masters, and a new champion has been crowned.

After a week of turbulent weather and outstanding golf on the course, Sunday's final round was relatively tranquil. On the heels of a hot start on Thursday and weathering the biblical conditions on Friday, Bryson DeChambeau fell from sharing the lead to 9 strokes back as the weekend progressed. Scottie Scheffler, the even-keeled Texan, came into the final round with a 1-stroke lead.

A trio – Homa, Morikawa, and Aberg – remained in contention for most of the day and managed to catch up to Scheffler midway through the round. Following a bogey on #11, Scottie birdied 3 of the final 7 holes to run away to a 4-stroke victory.

As Scheffler sank the final putt, locking in his second major, his wife, Meredith, tweeted a photo of their newborn daughter, Dallas. The caption on the post stated, "My daddy's comin' home with a new coat and a bag full of cash."

It turns out that Mrs. Scheffler had gone into labor on Tuesday while Scottie was playing his second practice round in Augusta. The family kept the baby's arrival under wraps until Sunday evening, as they didn't want to miss out on the payday this victory would bring.

It was also revealed that Scheffler's caddy, Ted Scott, was aware of the delivery all along but kept quiet. Before the Green Jacket Presentation Ceremony, Scott was asked how he could keep such a life-changing secret from his teammate and employer. He responded with a smirk, "Do you know what 10% of $3.6M is?"

With the final putt holed, we also have a final tally on the Live From Disgusta Masters Pool.

For the second straight year, an entrant identifying as a female has taken the top spot. Lindsey Limerick, a UNC Tarhole residing in Raleigh, finished the week with a come-from-behind 2-stroke win. She brings home the $900 first-place earnings, as well as the $200 Ladies Champion purse. Hopefully, Lindsey and Jordan will use these winnings to seed a 529 Plan for their children to save up enough for out-of-state tuition to Clemson someday.

Behind Lindsey, we have a three-way tie for 2nd. Greg Cocchiola spent much of the tournament in contention and even held a solo lead at one point. He will split the 2nd and 3rd place earnings of $675 with Michael Templeton and Jake McCoun, who all came in at 18-under. I've never met Greg or Mike, but Jake is one hell of an insurance advisor. If you need help with your auto, home, or life insurance, give Jake and the team at Advisors Insurance Agency a call.

Last and also least, we have our Mr. Irrelevant of 2024, Mr. Casen Dunn. After making the cut, Casen finished dead last with an astounding final score of 56-over-par. Casen is a financial analyst, so he may not have understood that, in golf, you want the score to go down into the negatives.

Casen will take home the $25 consolation prize to cover his loss and fund his entry next year. However, if I were him, I'd spend that money on Peach Alani energy drinks for his coworkers. Particularly those in the Marketing Department.

With that, we'll conclude our coverage of the 88th Masters and the 15th Live From Disgusta event. It's been our pleasure to host you all this week, and we look forward to seeing you next year.

I'm off to join my guy, John Daly, across the street at the Hooters Playaz Lounge for some wings, cheese sticks, and cold beer. If we're lucky, we'll enjoy an evening with the lovely Darlene Witherspoon.

So long from Augusta, folks, and don't forget to tip your bartenders.

Note:

At publishing, we are receiving reports that DeChambeau was just seen bear hugging the Eisenhower Tree and trying to deadlift it from the ground.
